About Us

A harbour-side table since 2016

Harbour & Vine began with a simple idea: bring the warmth of a neighbourhood bistro to Auckland's waterfront, without losing the polish of fine dining. What started as a 40-seat room overlooking the marina has grown into one of the Viaduct's most cherished destinations.

Our kitchen draws on classical European techniques while celebrating the incredible breadth of New Zealand produce — from Waiheke oysters and Canterbury lamb to Central Otago pinot noir poured by the glass.

Every plate is designed to feel generous yet refined, and every service team member is trained to make you feel genuinely looked after, not merely served.

Marcus Whitfield

Executive Chef & Owner

Born in Wellington and trained in Lyon and Melbourne, Marcus returned to New Zealand with a deep respect for terroir and a belief that great restaurants should feel like an extension of home — just with better wine.

He leads a kitchen team of twelve, changing the menu fortnightly to follow what's freshest at the markets. You'll often find him at the pass on Friday and Saturday nights, ensuring every dish leaves exactly as intended.
